REMOTE Locum Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist (Paediatric Dysphagia)

Location: Remote (UK-Based)
Contract: Full-time or Part-time (Flexible), ongoing, locum
Salary: £40-£45+ per hour


We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced locum Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to work remotely with a paediatric SLT team based in Powys. The successful candidate will have a strong background in paediatric dysphagia, with expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating children with feeding and swallowing disorders. This is a locum role that can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, offering flexibility for work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
•    Conduct detailed assessments of paediatric patients with dysphagia, including clinical observations and instrumental assessments where necessary.
•    Develop and implement tailored therapy plans to improve feeding and swallowing functions in children.
•    Provide evidence-based interventions, including specific strategies and exercises to enhance patients' oral-motor skills and feeding abilities.
•    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including dietitians, paediatricians, and occupational therapists to ensure comprehensive care.
•    Provide training and support to families and caregivers on feeding techniques and dysphagia management strategies.
•    Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
•    Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.

Key Requirements
•    HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist with a degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
•    Proven experience (post-graduate) in paediatric dysphagia, ideally with experience in both hospital and community settings.
•    Strong clinical knowledge of paediatric feeding and swallowing disorders.
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals.
•    Ability to work independently and manage a caseload remotely.
•    A current DBS check.
•    Experience with virtual therapy or telehealth services is desirable.
